1. OSDI Questionnaire
We begin with the Ocular Surface Disease Index, a validated tool that measures the frequency and impact of your symptoms. It provides a standardized score that reflects your visual discomfort, dryness, and functional limitations in daily life. This becomes the anchor for your treatment plan and progress tracking over time.
2. Meibography
Infrared imaging shows the health and structure of your meibomian glands. We detect early dropout, atrophy, and gland distortion that contribute to evaporative dry eye. Images are analysed using artificial intelligence for consistent scoring and follow-up comparisons.
3. Non-Invasive Tear Break-Up Time (NIBUT)
Measured with the Keratograph 5M, this test evaluates how long your tear film remains stable after a blink. It is completely non-contact and offers an objective view of tear film behaviour.
4. Tear Meniscus Height
We image the lower tear meniscus to determine your tear volume. A reduced height signals aqueous deficiency and helps identify the need for supplementation or retention strategies.
5. Bulbar Redness Index
We quantify ocular redness using digital vessel analysis. This gives a clear and trackable inflammation score to guide medical treatment and monitor response.
6. Lipid Layer Interference Pattern
Interferometry allows us to visualize and measure the quality of the lipid layer that protects your tears from evaporating. We use this data to assess meibomian gland performance and select therapies accordingly.
7. Blink Analysis
The system tracks your natural blink rate and completeness. Many patients with dry eye or digital eye strain have partial or infrequent blinks, which worsen tear instability.
8. Ocular Surface Staining
We use fluorescein and lissamine green dyes to map surface damage. These tests reveal areas of corneal or conjunctival dryness and guide the level of treatment needed.
9. Tear Osmolarity
Using TearLab and I Pen, we assess tear salt concentration, a direct marker of dry eye disease severity.
10. MMP 9 Inflammation Testing
This test detects inflammatory enzymes on the ocular surface, helping us decide when to introduce prescription medications like Cequa, Xiidra, or Restasis.
11. Neurolens Measurement
We screen for eye misalignment and digital fatigue using objective eye-tracking technology. This test is essential for identifying non-tear-related symptoms often mistaken for dry eye.
12. SM Tube Testing
When needed, we assess tear production and retention with SM Tubes. This is especially useful in cases where symptoms are high but standard measurements appear normal.
13. Eyelid and Lash Examination
We check for lid margin disease, blepharitis, and Demodex mites, all of which can drive chronic irritation and interfere with gland health.
14. Lifestyle and Systemic Risk Factors
We gather information on your medical history, work environment, digital device use, medications, and hormonal changes. These elements are often key contributors to ocular surface disease.
15. AI4Eyes Analysis

What to Expect
Your first visit will include a full dry eye assessment using the diagnostics listed above. Based on your profile, our doctors will discuss findings in detail and build a treatment plan with you. Some therapies can be performed on the same day. Others may be scheduled across multiple visits depending on severity and timing.
We recommend arriving 15 minutes early and planning to spend at least one hour at the clinic. If you have a known medical eye condition or are experiencing severe symptoms, allow extra time so we can perform a complete evaluation without rushing.
